Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement and is the most important day of the
Jewish people. On this day there will be no work, some with fast from
food and water and some will attend synagogue (Jewish Temple). It is
the day to atone for the sins of the past year against another person
and to reconcile with those people they have wronged, this is to all
to be done during the time between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. It
is a customary to wear white which symbolizes purity. Why do we fast
on this important day? The Torah (Jewish Bible) commands us to
"afflict" or de-emphasize the body and to spend this day
completely spiritual. This Day of Atonement is on the 9th of October
10 days after Rosh Hahanah.

"In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict
your souls, and you shall not do any work ... For on that day he
shall provide atonement for you to cleanse you from all your sins
before the L-RD." -Leviticus 16:29-30

This is a little sparse. You also need to interview somebody. Yor Rabbi would seem like the best choice.

It's good and all, but your article seems a wee bit tiny for my taste. Also, grammar error. It should be "This day of atonement is on the 9th of October, 10 days after Rosh Hahanah." The Leviticus quote is fine, but actually say "Lord" and don't put so much space between your body and quote. You also only mention the fast when you ask why, and nowhere else before or after that line. Other than that, very interesting and informative article.

Umm... This was too brief to be very informational, and it seemed... like... it wasn't really "newsworthy".

I honestly don't know what to say about this article. Well for starters you should I don't get thess sentences "some with fast from
food and water" "Why do we fast
on this important day?"

I thought it was very informative and interesting, i dont really hear to much about the jewish religion in the media these days so it would be nice to learn a little more about it.Also what day is Yom Kippur on?

My only advice is that maybe you should put what day it is on in the beginning of the article instead of nearly at the end. It just makes more sense that way (to me at least). Other than that, awesome job!

Other than minor grammer errors I liked the article. It was very informative since I've never really heard of Yom Kippur. I've seen it on calendars but never knew the facts behind it.
